Thando Sibeko, popularly known as Uncool MC, is a South African Amapiano artist, MC, DJ, songwriter and entertainer. He is recognised for his energetic stage presence, distinctive vocal delivery and contributions to the South African music industry. Initially known for hosting events and entertaining audiences, he gradually expanded his career into recording, songwriting and live music performances, establishing himself as a developing artist in the Amapiano genre.
Uncool MC hails from Kwa-Thema, a township on the East Rand of Gauteng, South Africa. His journey reflects the development of an entertainer who transformed his experience behind the microphone into opportunities as a recording artist. Through collaborations with established musicians, he has gained exposure to a wider audience and become associated with several notable Amapiano releases.
As of October 2026, Uncool MC is attracting increased attention following the release of his debut EP, Sesikude, on 2 October 2026. The project marks a significant turning point in his career because it allows him to share more of his personal experiences and artistic identity. His recent single, “Setla,” featuring DJ Maphorisa, Focalistic, Ntsako XVI and Shaun 101, has also contributed to growing interest in his music and professional journey.
Uncool MC Early Life and Background
Thando Sibeko was raised in Kwa-Thema, east of Johannesburg, in Gauteng, South Africa. Growing up in this community exposed him to the local music culture and entertainment environment that would later influence his professional ambitions. Although detailed information about his childhood and upbringing remains limited, his hometown plays an important role in the personal story behind his music.
Before becoming widely recognised as a recording artist, Uncool MC developed his performance abilities through entertainment and event hosting. His experience interacting with audiences helped him understand how to create excitement, maintain crowd engagement and deliver memorable performances. These abilities eventually became important foundations for his transition into the Amapiano music scene.
His early musical interests also included rap, which influenced his rhythmic delivery and approach to writing and performing. Over time, he found a creative home in Amapiano, a genre that combines electronic production, dance rhythms and distinctive vocal styles. In his 2026 project Sesikude, he reflects on his childhood in Kwa-Thema, his move to Sandton and his journey towards performing on stages in South Africa and abroad.
Uncool MC Education
Uncool MC’s formal educational background has not been extensively documented in publicly available, reliable sources. Information about the primary school, secondary school or tertiary institution he attended remains unconfirmed. Consequently, specific claims about his schools or academic qualifications should not be treated as established facts.
Despite the limited information about his formal education, his professional development demonstrates the importance of practical experience in the entertainment industry. Working as an MC gave him opportunities to develop communication skills, stage confidence, audience awareness and the ability to work with different performers and event organisers.
His experience in live entertainment and music collaborations has also contributed to his artistic development. By working with established Amapiano musicians, participating in recording sessions and performing for audiences, he has continued to develop his abilities as a vocalist, songwriter and DJ. However, these professional experiences should not be confused with verified academic qualifications.
Career and Rise to Fame
Uncool MC began building his reputation as an entertainer through event hosting and MC performances. His ability to energise audiences and maintain the atmosphere at parties helped him establish a presence in the entertainment industry. He subsequently expanded into DJing and recording, gradually moving from supporting other performers to developing his own identity as an artist.
A major development in his musical journey came through his connection with DJ Maphorisa, who encouraged him to develop his recording abilities. His involvement in the Amapiano scene introduced him to established producers and performers and created opportunities to contribute vocals to collaborative releases. These experiences helped him gain recognition beyond the events where he originally made his name.
His career has included contributions to songs such as “ZEP,” “Hamba Nabo,” “Ngeke,” “Dlala Ka Yona” and “BELE.” These collaborations demonstrate his involvement in a genre where artists frequently work together across vocal performances, production and songwriting. His rhythmic delivery and experience as an entertainer have helped him adapt to the collaborative nature of Amapiano music.
In 2026, Uncool MC continued to expand his catalogue with new releases, including “Setla,” released on 4 September. The track features DJ Maphorisa, Focalistic, Ntsako XVI and Shaun 101. The song became an important part of his move towards a more prominent solo career and helped build anticipation for his first extended project.
On 2 October 2026, he released Sesikude, his seven-track debut EP, through Uncool MC Productions and gamma. Africa. The title means “we have come far” and reflects his journey from Kwa-Thema to building relationships in the music industry and performing internationally. The project features collaborators from the Amapiano scene and represents a more personal expression of his musical development.
The release of Sesikude is particularly significant because it marks his decision to present himself more clearly as a performing and recording artist in his own right. After spending years working alongside other musicians, he is using his own project to communicate his experiences, ambitions and creative strengths. His continuing progress will depend on future releases, performances and his ability to establish a lasting connection with listeners.
Uncool MC Personal Life and Family
Uncool MC generally keeps his private life away from the spotlight. Although he discusses his professional journey and the experiences behind his music, publicly available information about his parents, siblings and wider family remains limited. Their names and occupations have not been reliably established in the sources consulted, so it would be inappropriate to introduce unverified family details into his biography.
Information about his romantic relationships is similarly limited. No reliable confirmation was found establishing the identity of a wife, fiancée or long-term partner. His marital status should therefore be considered unconfirmed rather than assuming that he is married or engaged.
Despite these unanswered questions, his background in Kwa-Thema and the personal experiences described in Sesikude provide insight into the journey that has shaped his career. His move to Sandton, professional relationships and opportunities to perform internationally are important elements of his public story. As his profile develops, he may choose to share more about his family and personal life with his audience.

Uncool MC Net Worth in 2026

His potential sources of income include event hosting, MC bookings, DJ performances, live shows, songwriting, recording royalties and music collaborations. Artists working in these areas may receive different amounts depending on their popularity, performance fees, recording agreements, publishing rights and the number of bookings they secure. Until credible financial information becomes available, any precise amount attributed to Uncool MC should be treated as speculation rather than established fact.

By contributing to group projects and releases associated with the Amapiano scene, he has gained experience working across different musical styles and production teams. This collaborative approach has helped him build a catalogue while developing his own sound.
The release of Sesikude represents an important milestone in his journey because it places his personal story at the centre of a dedicated project. Its focus on perseverance, growth and the distance he has travelled from Kwa-Thema reflects his ambition to become more established as a recording artist.
