Seipati Mahamu is a South African actress, writer, facilitator and entrepreneur whose career has expanded across television, film, theatre and commercial work. She has become increasingly recognizable for roles including Nyakallo in Outlaws and, most recently, Lethabo in e.tv and Netflix’s The Four of Us. As of September 2026, her portrayal of Lethabo has placed her at the centre of one of the show’s major storylines, while her work in Outlaws has further established her reputation for playing complex characters.
Seipati Mahamu Early Life
Seipati Mahamu was born and raised in Springfontein, on the outskirts of Bloemfontein, South Africa. Although detailed information about her parents, exact birth date and childhood circumstances is not widely documented in authoritative public sources, her upbringing in the Free State preceded the professional acting journey that eventually took her to Johannesburg. In a 2026 interview, Mahamu recalled that she was naturally drawn to storytelling and the ability of acting to transport audiences into different lives and emotions.
Acting was not initially her planned career path. Before fully committing herself to performance, Mahamu intended to become a civil engineer. She studied the subject for one semester at the Central University of Technology (CUT) in Bloemfontein, but left the programme because of personal emergencies. This change eventually opened the way for her to pursue acting professionally.
After leaving her initial studies, Mahamu moved to Johannesburg, where she was signed by an agency and began attending commercial auditions. Booking commercials helped her become more comfortable in front of cameras and introduced her to the practical demands of the entertainment industry. She later pursued formal acting training at the Market Theatre, turning an early interest in storytelling into a developing professional career.
Seipati Mahamu Education
Mahamu’s educational journey took an unconventional route. Her first documented tertiary programme was civil engineering at the Central University of Technology’s Bloemfontein campus, which she attended for one semester before leaving because of personal emergencies. Rather than ending her ambitions, the change eventually led her toward acting and the performing arts.
She subsequently trained at the Market Theatre and Market Theatre Laboratory. Her professional profile lists courses in screenwriting and live performance at the Market Theatre, as well as Level 1 and Level 2 Actor Wena part-time acting courses at the Market Theatre Laboratory. Her training included work with facilitators Themba Mkhoma and Monageng Motshabi.
Mahamu has continued developing her craft through professional coaching. In 2023, she received performance coaching from renowned acting coach Camilla Waldman, training that later proved particularly valuable when she prepared for the demanding role of Nyakallo in Outlaws. She has also used her experience to facilitate workshops and support other performers.
Seipati Mahamu Career
Seipati Mahamu began building her entertainment career through commercial work after moving to Johannesburg. The experience gave her greater confidence in front of the camera and helped her understand the professional audition and production process. Her commercial credits include campaigns associated with brands such as DStv, Telkom, Colgate, Shield, Bluetti and Regent Business School.
Her acting résumé subsequently expanded across television, film and theatre. Her documented screen credits include Isithembiso, Adulting, City of Gold, Trading Places and Outlaws. She also worked as a writer and facilitator, with earlier biographical sources crediting her with writing for productions including Skwizas, #Karektas and Lingashoni.
Mahamu received particular attention for her role as Nyakallo in Outlaws. In the show’s second season, the character becomes involved in an increasingly intense storyline involving power, revenge, pregnancy and loss. Mahamu worked closely with Camilla Waldman to develop the character’s emotional layers and said the process required her to confront difficult aspects of her own craft.
In 2026, she added another major television role as Lethabo in The Four of Us. The character is connected to Bobbi Dhlomo and is described as the devoted mother of his children. In September 2026, Lethabo became central to the show’s wedding storyline and later developed a relationship with Banzi.
Beyond acting, Mahamu is pursuing entrepreneurship. In a February 2026 interview, she said she was working on an e-hailing business and exploring property investment. She also said that one of her longer-term ambitions is to establish her own production company and expand into a wellness venture.
Seipati Mahamu Personal Life and Family
Mahamu has generally kept her private life away from the spotlight, meaning that relatively little verified information about her parents and wider family is publicly available. Some older biographical sources identify Thabo Twala as her husband and report that the couple has a daughter named Naledi, reportedly born in 2016. These family details appear in secondary biographical reporting but have not been consistently confirmed by recent primary sources, so they should be treated with appropriate caution.
Her family life has also been kept separate from many of her professional activities. Mahamu has spoken publicly about balancing acting with entrepreneurship, explaining that she manages her business commitments around filming, travel and other professional responsibilities. She has described acting as her passion while emphasizing her desire to build financial and professional interests beyond the entertainment industry.
In her professional life, Mahamu has developed relationships with fellow actors and mentors who have contributed to her growth. Her work with Camilla Waldman was especially significant during Outlaws, while her 2026 work on The Four of Us has brought her together with performers including Sdumo Mtshali and Thembinkosi Mthembu. Mahamu has said that working with Mtshali helped push her performance further while developing Lethabo.

Seipati Mahamu Net Worth

Her documented career includes television and film acting, commercial campaigns, writing, facilitation and performance coaching. Her professional profile lists commercial work for brands including DStv, Telkom, Colgate, Shield and Bluetti, in addition to acting roles in television and film.
Mahamu also disclosed in 2026 that she operates an e-hailing business and is exploring property investment. She has said that her long-term goal includes building wealth beyond acting and eventually establishing a production company and wellness venture. Because the value of these businesses and her acting contracts is not publicly disclosed, a precise net-worth calculation would be speculative.
Legacy
Seipati Mahamu’s emerging legacy is connected to her versatility across different areas of the South African entertainment industry. Rather than limiting herself to acting, she has developed experience as a writer, facilitator and performer while continuing to train and mentor within the creative sector. Her professional record demonstrates a career spanning television, film, theatre and commercial productions.
Her performances as Nyakallo in Outlaws and Lethabo in The Four of Us have further demonstrated her ability to portray emotionally complicated characters. Her preparation for Nyakallo, particularly her collaboration with Camilla Waldman, illustrates her commitment to developing character depth rather than relying solely on surface-level villainy or drama.
By September 2026, Mahamu’s career was continuing to expand beyond acting. Her entrepreneurial plans, interest in property and ambition to establish a production company indicate that she is building a broader professional identity. Her journey from studying civil engineering to becoming a working actress and entrepreneur also forms an important part of the story of her career.

Seipati Mahamu is a South African actress whose career has developed through persistence, professional training and a willingness to explore different creative roles. From her early commercial work and Market Theatre training to performances in Adulting, Outlaws and The Four of Us, she has steadily expanded her profile in South African entertainment.
